We have implemented an automatic measurement and inspection system using a Keyence 3D measurement probe system that can be simply measured manually. By mounting the probe on the end of an industrial robot and using teaching to make contact with the measurement points, we enable work to be done without human intervention. Each probing contact position is detected by the camera and automatically registered, judged, and exported as 3D coordinate data to the PC. In anticipation of automation, we can also accommodate operator-less automatic reading, selection, and measurement instructions from the previous process after consultation.
